Human trafficking hotline

Hotline Statistics The National Human Trafficking Hotline maintains one of the most extensive data sets on the issue of human trafficking in the United States. The statistics contained on this website are based on aggregated information learned through signals -- phone calls, emails, and online tip reports -- received by the Hotline. The data do not define the totality of human trafficking or of a trafficking network in any given area. The National Hotline uses this data to help human trafficking victims and survivors and to provide the anti-trafficking field with information to help combat all forms of human trafficking.NATIONAL STATISTICS To protect the identity of the people we serve, the National Hotline does not disclose exact statistics related to venues, industries, or caller information when referenced fewer than three times. i SINCE 2007 Total Signals: 145,764 Total Cases: 31,659 Total Calls: 128,686 Total Webforms: 8,226 Total Emails: 8,852 i Total Victims - Moderate: 34,690 Total Victims - High: 32,358 2016 statistics are current as of December 31, 2016 2016 2015 2014 2013 2012 26,727 CALLS THIS YEAR 7,572 HUMAN TRAFFICKING CASES REPORTED THIS YEAR Victims and Survivors Identified High Indicators 7,767 Moderate Indicators 9,045 Calls From Victims & Survivors 4,522 TYPE OF TRAFFICKING Sex Trafficking (5,551) Labor Trafficking (1,057) Trafficking Type Not Specified (696) Sex and Labor (268) # of Cases 7,572 TOP VENUES/INDUSTRIES FOR LABOR TRAFFICKING Domestic Work (201) Agriculture (124) Traveling Sales Crews (100) Restaurants/Food Service (75) Health & Beauty Services (45) # of Cases 1,057 TOP VENUES/INDUSTRIES FOR SEX TRAFFICKING Hotel/Motel-Based (584) Commercial-Front Brothels (559) Online Ad, Venue Unknown (409) Residential Brothels (361) Other Venues (249) # of Cases 5,551 GENDER Female (6,340) Male (978) Gender Minorities (70) # of Cases 7,572 AGE Adult (4,890) Minor (2,387) # of Cases 7,572 CITIZENSHIP US Citizen/LPR (2,075) Foreign National (1,417) # of Cases 7,572 These statistics are non-cumulative.
